Raquet Time

My reign as racquetball champion has sadly come to an end. Kyle and I enjoy playing racquetball and usually get in 1 if not 2 games a month. Every time we have played for the past 4 months I have won each and every time, much to the upset and frustration of Kyle. But my undefeated record came to a close this past Monday night as Kyle squeezed out a 16-14 victory on the 3rd game, taking 2 of 3 games.
At the start of the second game Kyle went for a ball that was a bit close to the wall and ended up smacking the racquet pretty hard, which caused it to crack the frame. The integrity of the racquet was gone so he decided to finish it off and the picture above is the end result. We made a quick run to the local Wal-Mart to pick up a new racquet and then finished off the last two games. Maybe that is why Kyle beat me...he has a new racquet.

Happy Birthday Cindy

My roommate, Cindy, celebrated her 30th birthday this past Saturday in true style. Her mom sure knows how to throw a party with delicious tacos, rice, beans, a pinata, and even a guy on a horse showed up.

The next day she was opening gifts and cards at the apartment and the final count of cash was $360. Dang... I need to invite her family and friends to my birthday parties:) Happy Birthday Cindy!

K1 Racing

Kyle has been meaning to take me go cart racing for some time now, and last week we finally went to K1 Speed. Due to a birthday party group reserving the regular track we got bumped over to the advanced one, which meant sharper turns and more technical driving skills required. Don't you worry...I crashed into the wall on the 3rd turn....hard. There are sensors throughout the whole course so anytime someone crashes or spins out too badly, all cars stop until the workers can correct it. The second time this happened to me was not my fault. Some punk kid who was racing with us tried to pass Kyle on a turn pushing him into me, which pushed me into the wall. But I got my revenge by bumping Kyle's brother, Cody, into the wall on the second to last turn so that I could squeeze past him and out of last place

Utah Here I Come

Yep, that's right. I'll be making a very quick visit to the state of Utah. On Saturday June 7 a friend of mine from early years BYU will be getting married. Kyle and I are driving up Friday June 6 and should arrive in Utah County around 5 pm, if not sooner. The wedding is Saturday morning, we will spend the night again Saturday and then drive home Sunday around noon.

So.... I would love to see many of you and catch up, seeing that it has been a little while for me. If we could get Nauvoo people in one location at one time that would fabulous. Let me know.

Surprise Dinner

So last night Kyle and his younger brother did a very nice thing for me. Kyle had called and said they were going to come up to my apartment to hang out, but when they got there they had food in hand and were ready to cook dinner for me.
They made yummy mini pizzas using English Muffins, spaghetti sauce, cheese and pepperoni. I haven't had these since I was younger and it was fun to watch them prepare dinner for me.

After dinner and watching The Wedding Singer we wanted to go to Golden Spoon to get some ice cream, only we got there 5 minutes too late. So we tried to hit up Cold Stone but they too were closed. We settled for pints of ice cream from a convenience store. Thank you boys for surprising me and with dinner and a movie.

Medieval Times

Last night Kyle and I stepped back in time to the 11th century when we walked through the doors of Medieval Times in Buena Park, CA. We cheered on the Red & Yellow knight, ate chicken, ribs, potatoes and garlic bread with our bare hands, enjoyed the jousting and watched as fraternity boys chugged down lots of booze.

D Land

Here are two pictures from the last time Kyle and I went to Disneyland/California Adventure about 2 weeks ago. I forgot about them until now.
